「スパニッシュ・アパートメント」「ダンサー イン Paris」のセドリック・クラピッシュ監督が、ある家族に遺された古い屋敷と1枚の絵画をめぐる謎を、現代と19世紀ベル・エポックというふたつの時代を交差させて描いたドラマ。 ノルマンディーの草原に佇む古い屋敷。100年以上にわたり閉ざされていたその屋敷の相続権を持つのは、互いに面識のない30人以上の一族だった。土地開発のため屋敷を売るよう迫られ、一族を代表して屋敷の調査をすることになったセブ、アブデル、セリーヌ、ギイの親戚4人は、そこで印象派の作品らしき絵画と、先祖アデルの手紙や写真を見つける。19世紀にノルマンディーからパリへと旅をし、ベル・エポックの時代を生きた女性アデル。彼女と絵画にまつわる家族の秘密が解き明かされたとき、それぞれの人生に新たな扉が開かれる。 劇中には印象派の巨匠モネをはじめ、ルノワール、セザンヌら実在した芸術家たちが次々と登場。カルティエのCM撮影でクラピッシュ監督に見いだされたアブラム・バプレが現代パートの主人公セブ、「スザンヌ、16歳」のスザンヌ・ランドンが過去パートの主人公アデルを演じ、バンサン・マケーニュ、ポール・キルシェ、セシル・ドゥ・フランス、オリビエ・グルメら豪華キャストが脇を固めた。

A drama by Cédric Klapisch, director of 'The Spanish Apartment' and 'Dancer in Paris,' depicting a mystery surrounding an old mansion and a single painting left to a family, interweaving two eras: the present day and the 19th-century Belle Époque. An old mansion stands on the plains of Normandy. More than 30 family members who have never met each other hold inheritance rights to the mansion, which had been closed for over 100 years. Pressured to sell the mansion for land development, four relatives—Seb, Abdel, Céline, and Guy—are chosen to represent the family and investigate the mansion, where they find what appears to be an Impressionist painting, along with letters and photographs belonging to their ancestor Adèle. Adèle was a woman who traveled from Normandy to Paris in the 19th century and lived during the Belle Époque. When the family secret surrounding her and the painting is revealed, new doors open in each of their lives. The film features real-life artists such as Impressionist masters Monet, Renoir, and Cézanne appearing one after another. Abram Baple, discovered by Klapisch during a Cartier commercial shoot, plays present-day protagonist Seb, while Suzanne Lindon of 'Suzanne, 16' plays past-era protagonist Adèle, with a stellar supporting cast including Vincent Macaigne, Paul Kircher, Cécile de France, and Olivier Gourmet.
