世界的人気を誇るSFサーガ「スター・ウォーズ」シリーズの約7年ぶりとなる劇場長編映画。ドラマシリーズ「マンダロリアン」で描かれてきた孤高の賞金稼ぎマンダロリアンと、フォースの力を秘めた幼い存在グローグーの物語を、壮大なスケールで描く。 物語の舞台は、「スター・ウォーズ　ジェダイの帰還」後の銀河。帝国崩壊後も新共和国の統治は行き届かず、無法者や帝国軍残党がはびこる混沌とした時代が続いていた。そんな中、強大なフォースを秘めた孤児グローグーは、その力を狙う者たちに追われる存在となる。彼を守ることを決意した賞金稼ぎディン・ジャリンことマンダロリアンは、危険に満ちた銀河を旅しながら、次第に親子のような絆を育んでいく。 本作では、成長したグローグーがルーク・スカイウォーカーのもとで特訓を積んだフォースの力を駆使する姿も描かれるほか、帝国残党との激しくスピーディーな戦闘など、「スター・ウォーズ」シリーズならではのスケール感あふれるアクションが展開。さらに、新キャラクターとして名優シガーニー・ウィーバー演じるウォード大佐も登場する。ルーカスフィルムの最高クリエイティブ責任者（チーフ・クリエイティブ・オフィサー）であるデイブ・フィローニが製作総指揮、ジョン・ファブローが監督を務めるなど、「マンダロリアン」シリーズを手がけてきたクリエイターが集う。

The first theatrical feature film in about seven years from the globally popular sci-fi saga "Star Wars". It depicts on a grand scale the story of the lone bounty hunter Mandalorian and the young Force-sensitive being Grogu, as portrayed in the drama series "The Mandalorian". Set in the galaxy after "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi", the era is chaotic, with the New Republic's rule incomplete and outlaws and Imperial remnants running rampant. Amidst this, the orphan Grogu, who possesses immense Force power, is pursued by those who covet his strength. The bounty hunter Din Jarin, aka the Mandalorian, decides to protect him, and as they travel through a dangerous galaxy, they gradually develop a father-son bond. The film shows a grown Grogu using the Force powers he honed under Luke Skywalker's training, and features intense, fast-paced battles against Imperial remnants, delivering the large-scale action unique to the "Star Wars" series. A new character, Colonel Ward, is played by the renowned actress Sigourney Weaver. Dave Filoni, Lucasfilm's Chief Creative Officer, serves as executive producer, and Jon Favreau directs, bringing together the creators behind "The Mandalorian" series.
