THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT: THEE MOVIE — LAST HEAVEN 031011
A documentary about the rock band Michelle Gun Elephant, who disbanded in 2003. Produced as part of a project to commemorate band member Futoshi Abe, who passed away suddenly in July 2009. The film captures the last live performance held at Makuhari Messe in October 2003, which drew 40,000 people, along with backstage footage. Directed by Shuichi Bamba, who has worked on numerous music videos. In 2026, marking the 30th anniversary of their debut, the original sound source from the Makuhari last live will be converted to high-resolution audio with the venue's ambient sound from that day added, given a 5.1ch surround mix, and screened as the "Makuhari Boost ver." — reproducing the live acoustics as faithfully as possible — at Theater Shinjuku in Tokyo and other venues.
