任天堂のゲーム「スーパーマリオ」シリーズの世界をアニメーション映画化し、2023年に公開されて全世界興行収入が13億ドルを超える大ヒットを記録した「ザ・スーパーマリオブラザーズ・ムービー」のシリーズ第2作。 双子の配管工マリオとルイージは、キノコ王国でピーチ姫を助けながら、捕らわれた大魔王クッパの世話をしたり、みんなの困りごとを解決したりしていた。そんなある日、2人は新たな相棒となるヨッシーに出会う。そしてピーチ姫の誕生日パーティをきっかけに、クッパの息子であるクッパJr.が抱く邪悪な野望を阻止するため、宇宙を舞台にした新たな冒険の旅に出る。 マリオやルイージ、ピーチ姫、クッパ、キノピオといった前作にも登場したおなじみの面々に加え、原作ゲームシリーズからヨッシーやロゼッタ、クッパJr.といったキャラクターたちが新たに登場する。「ミニオンズ」「SING シング」シリーズなどを手がけるイルミネーションのクリス・メレダンドリと、任天堂の宮本茂が共同でプロデュース。監督のアーロン・ホーバスとマイケル・ジェレニック、脚本のマシュー・フォーゲルも続投し、キャスト陣もオリジナル版のクリス・プラット、アニヤ・テイラー＝ジョイ、チャーリー・デイ、ジャック・ブラックら、吹き替え版の宮野真守、志田有彩、畠中祐、三宅健太、関智一らが引き続き担当する。

The second film in the series of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie", which animated the world of Nintendo's "Super Mario" game series and became a massive hit in 2023, grossing over $13 billion worldwide. Twin plumbers Mario and Luigi, while helping Princess Peach in the Mushroom Kingdom, take care of the captured King Koopa and solve everyone's problems. One day, they meet a new partner, Yoshi. Then, triggered by Princess Peach's birthday party, they embark on a new adventure across space to thwart the evil ambitions of Koopa's son, Bowser Jr. In addition to familiar faces from the first film like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Koopa, and Toad, new characters from the original game series appear, including Yoshi, Rosalina, and Bowser Jr. Produced jointly by Chris Meledandri of Illumination (known for the "Minions" and "Sing" series) and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto. Directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and screenwriter Matthew Fogel return, along with the original voice cast including Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, and Jack Black, as well as the Japanese dub cast including Mamoru Miyano, Ayasa Shida, Yu Hatakeyama, Kenta Miyake, and Tomokazu Seki.
