This human drama depicts the loneliness and division in modern society through the daily life of an immigrant woman working in a massive logistics center in Scotland, ultimately finding a faint glimmer of hope. Aurora, a Portuguese immigrant, works as a picker in a huge logistics center on the outskirts of Scotland. Her days are mostly spent walking through countless aisles following scanner instructions and retrieving items from shelves. Conversations with colleagues are limited to brief breaks, and after her shift, she drags her tired body back to a shared house for immigrant workers. Interactions among residents are superficial, relationships never deepen, and her rootless days continue monotonously. One day, Aurora accidentally breaks her smartphone. Losing this modern necessity—her means of workplace communication and her "companion" for passing time—slowly but surely begins to change her daily life. Portuguese-born, Scotland-based Laura Carreira wrote and directed her first feature film based on her own experiences as an immigrant, winning the Best Director Award at the 72nd San Sebastián International Film Festival in 2024.
