香港と台湾を舞台に、1通の手紙がつないだ真夏の奇跡を描いたロードムービー。美しくきらめく台湾の原風景をバックに、心に傷を負った作家と孤独な青年の、時空を超えた絆を描き出す。 香港の人気作家ティエンユーは、新作小説に盗作疑惑が持ち上がり、世間から激しいバッシングを浴びてしまう。心に深い傷を負った彼は、かつて文通していた少年が教えてくれた、天国につながるという「鯨が消えた入江」を探すため、ひとり台湾へと向かう。慣れない異国の地でぼったくりに遭い、台北の繁華街で酔い潰れてしまったティエンユーは、地元のチンピラであるアシャンに助けられる。ティエンユーが旅の目的を打ち明けると、「鯨が消えた入江」を知っているというアシャンは彼をそこへ連れていくと請け合い、2人のひと夏の旅が始まるが……。 「トワイライト・ウォリーアーズ　決戦！九龍城砦」のテレンス・ラウが優しく純朴な作家ティエンユーを繊細に演じ、「運命のマッチアップ」のフェンディ・ファンがチンピラのアシャン役で共演。

A road movie set in Hong Kong and Taiwan, depicting a midsummer miracle connected by a single letter. Against the beautiful, shimmering landscapes of Taiwan, it portrays a time-spanning bond between a wounded writer and a lonely young man. Tianyu, a popular Hong Kong writer, faces fierce public backlash after accusations of plagiarism. Deeply hurt, he travels alone to Taiwan in search of the 'Whale's Vanished Cove,' a place said to lead to heaven, which a boy he once corresponded with told him about. After being cheated in an unfamiliar country and getting drunk in the bustling streets of Taipei, Tianyu is helped by Ashang, a local thug. When Tianyu reveals the purpose of his journey, Ashang, claiming to know the 'Whale's Vanished Cove,' offers to take him there, and their summer journey begins... Terence Lau, known for 'Twilight Warriors: Final Battle in the Kowloon Walled City,' delicately portrays the gentle and pure writer Tianyu, while Fandy Fan, from 'Destiny Matchup,' co-stars as the thug Ashang.
