インドに暮らすムスリム女性たちの100日以上にわたる平和的な抵抗運動を追ったドキュメンタリー。 2019年12月、インドのモディ政権はイスラム教徒を意図的に排除する市民権改正法を制定し、イスラム教徒の間では市民権を剥奪される危機感が高まった。法案に対する批判の声が高まるなか、反対運動の拠点であるジャミア・ミリア・イスラミア大学構内に警察が突入し、200人もの負傷者と多数の逮捕者を出した。この暴力的な対応と差別的な法案への抗議として、ニューデリー南部のイスラム教徒居住区シャヒーン・バーグで大規模な座り込みが始まる。その中心にいたのはムスリムの女性たちで、政府による宗教差別やデモ鎮圧は憲法違反だと主張し、日々の暮らしを営みながら100日以上にわたり幹線道路を封鎖した。この非暴力の運動は多くの人々の共感を呼び、世代や文化、宗教を越えてインド全土に広まった。しかしデリー議会選挙をきっかけに状況は緊迫し、警察による強制排除が起こる。 ムスリム女性のノウシーン・ハーンが監督を務め、政治的にも社会的にも透明化されてきたムスリム女性たちによる歴史的抵抗運動の軌跡に、自らの解放と変革の物語を重ねながら描き出す。山形国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭2023にて市民賞（観客賞）を受賞（映画祭上映時タイトル「我が理想の国」）。

A documentary following over 100 days of peaceful resistance by Muslim women living in India. In December 2019, India's Modi government enacted the Citizenship Amendment Act, which deliberately excludes Muslims, heightening fears among Muslims of losing their citizenship. As criticism of the bill grew, police stormed the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia University, a protest hub, injuring 200 people and making numerous arrests. In protest against this violent response and the discriminatory law, a massive sit-in began in Shaheen Bagh, a Muslim neighborhood in South Delhi. At its center were Muslim women who, arguing that the government's religious discrimination and crackdown on protests were unconstitutional, blocked a major highway for over 100 days while continuing their daily lives. This nonviolent movement resonated with many, spreading across India beyond generations, cultures, and religions. However, tensions escalated around the Delhi legislative elections, leading to a forced police eviction. Directed by Muslim woman Nousheen Khan, the film traces the historical resistance movement by Muslim women, who have been politically and socially rendered invisible, while overlaying her own story of liberation and transformation. It won the Audience Award at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival 2023 (screened under the title 'My Ideal Country').
