「1秒先の彼女」「熱帯魚」などで知られる台湾のチェン・ユーシュン監督が、1950年代の台湾で多くの市民が反政府の疑いをかけられ逮捕・処刑された「白色テロ」の時代を背景に描いた希望と再生の物語。 1950年代、戒厳令下の台湾。嘉義で暮らす少女・阿月（アグエー）は、反政府分子として捕らえられた兄が台北で処刑されたことを知る。わずかな金と兄の形見の時計を手にひとり台北へ向かう阿月だったが、兄の遺体を引き取るには高額な手数料が必要だった。途方に暮れていたところを怪しい男に騙され、遊郭に売り飛ばされそうになった彼女は、人力車の車夫・趙公道（ザオ・ゴンダオ）に助けられる。中国・広東出身の彼は、国民党軍の兵士として台湾に渡って以来、故郷へ帰ることもかなわず、その日暮らしの生活を送っていた。白色テロで軍の仲間を失い人生に行き場を見いだせずにいた公道は、阿月の思いに心を動かされ、手を差し伸べることを決意する。 「アメリカから来た少女」のケイトリン・ファンが阿月、「香港の流れ者たち」のウィル・オーが趙公道を演じ、台湾の人気歌手で俳優としても活躍する9m88（ジョウエムバーバー）が共演。2025年・第62回金馬奨にて最優秀作品賞を含む4部門を受賞した。

Directed by Taiwan's Yu-Hsun Chen, known for "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and "The Tropical Fish," this is a story of hope and rebirth set against the backdrop of the "White Terror" era in 1950s Taiwan, when many citizens were arrested and executed on suspicion of being anti-government. In the 1950s, under martial law in Taiwan. A young girl named A-Yue, living in Chiayi, learns that her brother, captured as an anti-government element, has been executed in Taipei. With a small amount of money and her brother's keepsake watch in hand, she heads to Taipei alone, only to find that a hefty fee is required to claim his body. At her wit's end, she is tricked by a suspicious man and nearly sold into a brothel, but is rescued by a rickshaw puller named Zhao Gongdao. Originally from Guangdong, China, he came to Taiwan as a soldier for the Nationalist army and has been unable to return home, living hand-to-mouth ever since. Having lost his army comrades to the White Terror and finding no direction in life, Gongdao is moved by A-Yue's determination and decides to lend her a hand. Caitlin Fang ("A Girl from America") plays A-Yue, Will Or ("The Staggering Girl") plays Zhao Gongdao, and popular Taiwanese singer and actor 9m88 co-stars. The film won four awards, including Best Feature Film, at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards in 2025.
