かいせつ 舞台は大阪の東、平野川のほとりにあるスラム街。鉄くず泥棒で生計をたてる通称“アパッチ族”の面々と、彼らに寄り添おうと奮闘する町医者フランキーの交流を描いたヒューマンドラマの佳品。妻役・新珠三千代もみごとな存在感。

Set in a slum along the Hirano River in eastern Osaka. A fine human drama depicting the interactions between the so-called 'Apache tribe,' who make a living by stealing scrap metal, and a town doctor (Frankie) who strives to stand by them. Michiyo Aratama, playing his wife, also delivers a remarkable presence.
