世界的ジャズピアニストのキース・ジャレットが1975年1月24日にドイツのケルン歌劇場で行ったコンサートの開催までの舞台裏を、当時18歳だった女性プロモーターを主人公に描いた音楽青春映画。 ドイツ・ケルンに住む音楽好きの高校生ヴェラ・ブランデスは、厳格な父親への反抗心もあり、来独ミュージシャンのツアーをブッキングするアルバイトを始める。持ち前のバイタリティを発揮して仕事が軌道に乗り始めた頃、ベルリンのジャズ・フェスティバルに出向いた彼女は、アメリカの天才ピアニスト、キース・ジャレットの演奏に衝撃を受ける。キースのケルン公演を実現させようと決意した彼女は、幾多の困難を乗り越えてコンサート開催に漕ぎつけるが、当日、キースの希望していたピアノとは異なる種類のピアノが用意されるというトラブルが発生する。開演時間が迫る中、キースは演奏を拒否し、コンサート開催が危ぶまれるが……。 ライブアルバムの名盤「ケルン・コンサート」としても知られる伝説的なコンサートが、開催中止寸前のトラブルに見舞われるも、弱冠18歳の女性プロモーターの機転と行動力で実現したという、知る人ぞ知る実話を史実に基づき映画化。ドイツの新鋭マラ・エムデがヴェラ役を演じ、キース・ジャレット役を「ファースト・カウ」「パスト ライブス　再会」などで知られるジョン・マガロが演じた。

A music youth film that goes behind the scenes of the concert given by world-famous jazz pianist Keith Jarrett at the Cologne Opera House in Germany on January 24, 1975, centering on the then-18-year-old female promoter. Vera Brandes, a music-loving high school student living in Cologne, Germany, starts a part-time job booking tours for musicians visiting Germany, partly as an act of rebellion against her strict father. Just as her work begins to gain momentum thanks to her innate vitality, she visits the Berlin Jazz Festival and is stunned by the performance of American piano genius Keith Jarrett. Determined to make Keith's Cologne concert happen, she overcomes numerous difficulties to arrange the event, but on the day, a problem arises: a different type of piano than the one Keith had requested is provided. As the start time approaches, Keith refuses to play, putting the concert in jeopardy... Based on historical facts, this film adapts the little-known true story of how the legendary concert, also known as the live album masterpiece "The Köln Concert," was nearly cancelled due to a last-minute crisis but was saved by the quick thinking and resourcefulness of an 18-year-old female promoter. German rising star Mala Emde plays Vera, and John Magaro, known for "First Cow" and "Past Lives," plays Keith Jarrett.
