1987年に日本でアーケードゲームとして誕生し、対戦格闘ゲームというジャンルを確立したカプコンの名作シリーズ「ストリートファイター」をハリウッドで実写映画化。 1993年。かつてともに天才格闘家として名を馳せたリュウとケンは兄弟のような存在だったが、ある理由から疎遠になっていた。そんな彼らの前に謎の女性格闘家・春麗が現れ、「ワールドウォリアートーナメント（世界格闘王決定戦）」の招待状を差し出す。リュウとケンは世界最強の猛者であるストリートファイターたちを相手に、ルールもリミットも容赦もない壮絶な戦いに身を投じるが、トーナメントが進むにつれて大会に隠された陰謀が明らかになり、2人が過去に葬り去ったはずの悪夢がよみがえる。 監督は日本生まれアメリカ育ちのキタオ・サクライ。「ブラックアダム」のノア・センティネオがケン、「ブレット・トレイン」のアンドリュー・小路がリュウ、「BAD GENIUS バッド・ジーニアス」のカリーナ・リャンが春麗を演じ、マイク・バイソン役でカーティス・“50セント”・ジャクソン、ベガ役でデビッド・ダストマルチャン、ブランカ役でジェイソン・モモアが共演。日本語吹き替え版では、リュウ役の高橋広樹らゲーム版でおなじみの声優陣が吹き替えを担当。
A Hollywood live-action adaptation of Capcom's legendary series "Street Fighter," which was born as an arcade game in Japan in 1987 and established the fighting game genre. It is 1993. Ryu and Ken, once renowned as genius martial artists and like brothers to each other, had grown estranged for a certain reason. Before them appears a mysterious female fighter, Chun-Li, who presents an invitation to the "World Warrior Tournament." Ryu and Ken throw themselves into a fierce battle against the world's strongest Street Fighters, with no rules, no limits, and no mercy. But as the tournament progresses, a conspiracy hidden within the competition comes to light, and a nightmare the two thought they had buried in the past resurfaces. The director is Kitao Sakurai, born in Japan and raised in America. Noah Centineo of "Black Adam" plays Ken, Andrew Koji of "Bullet Train" plays Ryu, and Callina Liang of "Bad Genius" plays Chun-Li, with Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson as Mike Bison, David Dastmalchian as Vega, and Jason Momoa as Blanka. In the Japanese dub, voice actors familiar from the games, including Hiroki Takahashi as Ryu, reprise their roles.
