「国宝」の李相日監督が2005年に手がけた長編第3作。行き場のない怒りと孤独を抱えた若者たちが理不尽な社会にささやかな反抗を試みる姿を、李監督によるオリジナル脚本で描き出す。 “正義の味方”を夢見て警察官になったシンゴは、事後処理のデスクワークばかりの日々にうんざりしていた。そんなある日、彼はバスジャック事件に遭遇する。バスには、若い男テツとサングラスをかけた女サキが乗り合わせていた。シンゴにとっては完璧なシチュエーションのはずだったが、犯人に手も足も出ないまま事件は終わりを迎える。3カ月後、偶然にもテツと再会したシンゴは、「この世の中、想像力が足りねえんだよ」というテツの言葉をきっかけに、社会に絶望した人たちの願いを叶える“復讐代行”のゲームを2人で始める。復讐の依頼は次々と舞い込み、自由奔放なテツに引きずられて2人のゲームはエスカレートしていく。一方、サキは薬剤師として働きながら、自室で秘密の実験をしていた。テツとシンゴのゲームはさらに加熱し、事態は思わぬ方向へと転がりはじめる。 加瀬亮がシンゴ、オダギリジョーがテツ、栗山千明がサキを演じた。ロックバンド「フジファブリック」がエンディングテーマを担当。2026年4月にリバイバル上映。

The third feature film by director Sang-il Lee, made in 2005, based on his original screenplay. It depicts young people carrying aimless anger and loneliness as they attempt small acts of rebellion against an unreasonable society. Shingo, who became a police officer dreaming of being a "hero of justice," is fed up with days spent doing only desk work and after-the-fact paperwork. One day, he encounters a bus-jacking incident. On the bus are a young man, Tetsu, and a woman in sunglasses, Saki. For Shingo, it should have been the perfect situation, but the incident ends without him laying a finger on the culprit. Three months later, Shingo coincidentally meets Tetsu again, and prompted by Tetsu's words, "This world lacks imagination," the two begin a game of "revenge proxy," fulfilling the wishes of people who have despaired of society. Requests for revenge pour in one after another, and dragged along by the free-spirited Tetsu, their game escalates. Meanwhile, Saki, working as a pharmacist, conducts secret experiments in her room. Tetsu and Shingo's game heats up further, and things begin to spiral in unexpected directions. Ryo Kase plays Shingo, Joe Odagiri plays Tetsu, and Chiaki Kuriyama plays Saki. The rock band Fujifabric provides the ending theme. Scheduled for a revival screening in April 2026.
