「野火」「斬、」の塚本晋也監督が、終戦直後の闇市を舞台に絶望と闇を抱えながら生きる人々の姿を描いたドラマ。 焼け残った小さな居酒屋に1人で住む女は、体を売ることを斡旋され、絶望から抗うこともできずに日々をやり過ごしていた。そんなある日、空襲で家族を失った子どもが、女の暮らす居酒屋へ食べ物を盗みに入り込む。それ以来、子どもはそこに入り浸るようになり、女は子どもとの交流を通してほのかな光を見いだしていく。 「生きてるだけで、愛。」の趣里が主人公の女を繊細かつ大胆に演じ、片腕が動かない謎の男役で森山未來、戦争孤児役で「ラーゲリより愛を込めて」の子役・塚尾桜雅、復員した若い兵士役で「スペシャルアクターズ」の河野宏紀が共演。2023年・第80回ベネチア国際映画祭オリゾンティ部門に出品され、優れたアジア映画に贈られるNETPAC賞（最優秀アジア映画賞）を受賞した。

Director Shinya Tsukamoto, known for "Fires on the Plain" and "Killing," depicts the lives of people carrying despair and darkness in the black market just after the end of the war. A woman living alone in a small, surviving izakaya is forced into selling her body and spends her days without the will to resist, overwhelmed by despair. One day, a child who lost their family in an air raid sneaks into the woman's izakaya to steal food. From then on, the child begins to frequent the place, and through her interaction with the child, the woman begins to find a faint glimmer of light. Hikari Mitsushima, known for "Just Remembering," delivers a delicate yet bold performance as the protagonist, the woman. Mirai Moriyama plays a mysterious man with a paralyzed arm, Sōga Tsukao, a child actor known for "The Last 10 Years," plays a war orphan, and Hironori Kōno, known for "Special Actors," plays a young repatriated soldier. It was screened in the Orizzonti section of the 80th Venice International Film Festival in 2023 and won the NETPAC Award (Best Asian Film Award).
