A comedy-drama about a 93-year-old grandmother's struggle against a grandparent scam, starring June Squibb, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for 'Nebraska,' in her first leading film role at age 93. Thelma, 93, lives alone after losing her husband, lonely but carefree. One day, hearing that her beloved grandson Danny has caused an accident and is in jail, she sends $10,000 for bail to help him, but it's a classic scam. Determined to find the culprit and get her money back, Thelma drags her old friend Ben along and sets out on a great adventure on an electric scooter. Fred Hechinger, from 'Gladiator II,' plays the grandson Danny. The role of old friend Ben is played by Richard Roundtree, known for 'Shaft,' who passed away in October 2023. Additionally, Parker Posey from 'Beau Is Afraid' co-stars as Thelma's daughter Gail, and Clark Gregg from 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' plays Gail's husband Alan. Malcolm McDowell from 'A Clockwork Orange' plays a key figure who appears in the latter half of the story. The film is the feature debut of director and screenwriter Josh Margolin, based on his real-life experiences with his own grandmother, Thelma.
