Until the End of the World
A film that Wim Wenders nurtured for about 13 years before completing. Blending sci-fi elements, it combines a road movie and love story set in a world facing apocalypse. In the winter of 1999, the predicted crash of a nuclear satellite casts the world into anxiety. Claire, traveling by car from Venice, meets Trevor, who is being chased by someone. Though they part ways, she can't stop thinking about him and, with the help of her ex-lover (a writer) and a private detective, follows him to Lisbon, Moscow, and Beijing. Reuniting with Trevor in Tokyo, Claire learns the purpose of his journey.
