エリック・ロメール監督による「喜劇と格言劇」シリーズの第3作。海辺の別荘で6人の男女が織り成す恋愛模様を、思春期の少女ポーリーヌの目を通して描く。15歳の少女ポーリーヌは、年の離れた従姉マリオンと一緒にノルマンディの別荘へバカンスにやって来る。海辺へ出かけた2人は、マリオンの元恋人ピエールと出会う。ピエールは現在もマリオンへの思いを引きずっていたが、マリオンはピエールの知人であるプレイボーイのアンリに恋をしてしまう。一方、ポーリーヌは海辺でウィンドサーフィンをしていた少年シルバンと親しくなるが……。ベルリン国際映画祭で銀熊賞と国際批評家連盟賞を受賞した。

The third film in Éric Rohmer's "Comedies and Proverbs" series. It depicts the romantic entanglements of six men and women at a seaside villa, seen through the eyes of adolescent girl Pauline. Fifteen-year-old Pauline comes to Normandy for a vacation with her older cousin Marion. When they go to the beach, they meet Marion's ex-boyfriend Pierre. Pierre still harbors feelings for Marion, but Marion falls for Henri, a playboy acquaintance of Pierre's. Meanwhile, Pauline grows close to Sylvain, a boy windsurfing at the beach... The film won the Silver Bear and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.
